Bless Your Heart
In Project: J.W. Morris Music

A bluesy little 12 bar number of mine.  All instruments besides the guitars were homemade, including my cigar box lap drum, penny-and-tomato can snare, and rebuilt foot tambourine.  I didn't have an exact artist or song influence this one, but after listening to the finished track a few times, to my ear it's a little Roger Miller and a little Duane Allman.  Hope you like it!

Lyrics:
Take all my folding money, honey,
Get a bottle from the liquor store

If there's any change left over,
Go ahead and pick up some more
Because we got time

Might as well spend it with whiskey and wine

It might seem sophomore
But it sure beats walking the floor

There's a whole lot of good times sloshing around in those bottles you bought
Find a spot in the sunshine, and work on being a lush
What say you

Maybe smoke a little, too

You've already got one sparked
Bless your heart

Let go of the troubles, baby, leave all those worries behind
Put our drunken heads together, see what kind of trouble we find
Try and feel free

Even just temporarily

You're ready to depart
Bless your heart
