Published: 09-19-18
Sweet G was born in Denver Colorado October 24, at St. Joseph Hospital. Her singing career began before she could speak. Her mother says that she hummed everything and had music in her life daily. She remembers playing albums on her mother’s home system every time she got a chance. There were lots of scratched records in the house but mom forgave her because she understood Sweet G’s need to hear music. Then throughout her school career she took up the recorder, flute and guitar. She became very good with the flute and participated in City Wide Band during her middle School years. In eighth grade she was the fourth flutist in the city out of forty-four floutistists. She graduated from John F. Kennedy. She participating in the school choirs is what she did in her four years attending JFK. She was in all five choirs offered, participated in mariachi bands, auditioned for all musicals, and participated in one semester of speech. After high school, she won a talent competition which was held at the Vila Italian mall where she was awarded with MS. Colorado and trophies. Then she became a mother of three wonderful children and that put her in a position of singing at home and karaoke. She worked at the National Camps for blind children as a music director and counselor from 1994 to 2009. She also worked with Innervision from 2005 to the present and desire to have someone who can produce and write music consider her as she loves music. Blind Sweet G also believes that “music is therapy for all occasions.” Her title as SWEET G began during the 1980’s when beat-boxing was in. She had two cousin’s Joejoe and Angelo who is deceased now and a friend Jude who did the beat-boxing on corners in her neighborhood and she came out singing and rapping. Now her two children Miranda and Erron are interested in music, Erron plays the drums and Miranda is a singer and they will both be featured on Sweet G and the Krew CD. She has another child Mya and one grandson Isaac. Sweet G would say she would like to create music that sounds like; EdaJames Mariah Carey, Lil Kim, Lil Rob, Whitney Houston and Yolanda Adams.
