Denver, CO rock-americana band Gun Street Ghost will release their sophomore full-length album, “Battles,” on vinyl on Saturday, June 8th. The record can be pre-ordered now on the band’s bandcamp page, http://gunstreetghost.bandcamp.com, and the whole album is now available on digital music platforms. A record release show will be held at the Hi-Dive in Denver on Saturday, June 8th, with performances by Gun Street Ghost, New Mexican, and Jeff Cramer.
The new album, titled “Battles,” is a collection of ten new recordings, shot through with threads of alt-country, the fabled “Denver Sound,” punk rock and even a little pop. Made over the last year at Denver’s Mighty Fine Productions, the album showcases singer-songwriter Mike Perfetti’s trademark booming voice and honest, heartfelt lyrics over solid musical arrangements with the rhythm section of Kim Baxter on drums and Mike King on bass, and new lead guitarist Jordan Nichols. Guest musicians Murry Mercier (keys), John Macy (pedal steel), and Tiffany Brown (vocals) feature throughout, adding depth and richness to the overall sound.
Gun Street Ghost has been performing in and around Denver since 2010. Their first EP, “One Home,” was released in 2012, followed by the self-titled debut full length album in 2014. In 2016, the band released the ”Old Ghosts”/”Trust” single. Those two songs were revisited to be included with the new batch of tunes that would become “Battles,” the group’s second full length album.
