This edition of Sacred Voices open mic took place on May 24th 2019. The featured poet of this show was Bri Hill, and the show was hosted by Hannabah Blue.

Marie, driven by her passion to succeed has faced many challenges from challenges in the workplace, heartache, and adversity as a transgender woman. She has learned how to hustle and bustle from the offices of her different careers to surviving on the streets of Denver. Marie is a woman who will spread love and positivity but recognizes when it is time to dial up her street smarts.

Katherine, a woman bursting with creative energy loves to surround herself with other like minded individuals who strive for more positivity in the world. After years of domestic and substance abuse, she has found the stability and groundwork to channel

Sean, but who goes by Oatmeal is a man of many talents and hobbies. Often he will he look to sell you some of his jams and beautifully crafted origami pieces. A true artist at heart but a survivalist by necessity as Oatmeal walks us through how to survive on the Denver streets through rain or shine. We are talking about a man who can teach you to cook a pizza over a fire in the middle of a park.

Martin, a man who turns heads with his boisterous voice radiates a room with his energy and presence, walks us through how he survives day to day while homeless. He grinds and hustles with an amazing attitude and he builds more stability in his life. What’s his foundation nowadays? His daily clean shower at the YMCA and a clean shave. He is often times the sharpest man in the room.
