Our organization enables individuals and organizations with limited financial resources to produce independent and nonprofit media in the Denver community for a local and global audience. In developing partnerships throughout the community we strive to provide all the tools necessary to produce high-quality, professional media. In order to maintain and offer services to the community we must ask that members agree to abide by certain rules and procedures. Please read and sign the following user-agreement from.
Denver Open Media members must be aware of all of the rules detailed in the documents provided. Members are responsible for the conduct of everyone participating in their production.
Failure to observe these rules could result in a loss of privileges at DOM.

Your video project must be non-commercial in nature and adhere to the Denver Open Media policy regarding Creative Commons Licensing.

Members are required to take an orientation course prior to using DOM equipment. The length and cost of the course will be determined by past experience and software proficiency.

Members who have prior experience with editing software (Final Cut Pro), studio equipment and/or field camera equipment can opt to Test-Out of our certification classes. Testing out of the field certification class costs $50, and testing out of the editing certification class costs $25. Testing out of the studio certification class also costs $50; please contact Ann (ann [at] deproduction [dot] org) to schedule an appointment.

If you are not an experienced editor or camera operator, you will be required to participate in one of our certification classes. Equipment and facilities are available for use by only those members who have completed the appropriate DOM certification classes. Renting a studio costs $15 per hour.

Members are to exercise extreme care and common sense when operating studio and portable equipment.

Under no circumstances shall any member attempt any maintenance, repair, or adjustment to any equipment rented. Any member attempting any of the above shall have their production privileges revoked. All problems should immediately be brought to the attention of a Denver Open Media staff member.

Members will be held financially liable for missing equipment and for the repair or replacement of equipment damaged by negligence.

All members and guests of members must act in a courteous and respectful manner at all times.

All use of DOM equipment or facilities must result in a project (policy details under development) and must be submitted for airing.

All member producers are responsible for notifying DOM if their program contain material requiring an advisory message.

Studio and portable remote equipment will be provided by DOM for use by members and will be maintained by DOM.

DOM will provide facilities for electronic editing of taped footage.

DOM will provide the equipment and instruction for producers to ingest member programming for the access channels.

DOM will provide Internet services to producers in order that hey may complete all required paperwork and other materials needed for membership.

DOM will provide qualified and knowledgeable staff to offer orientations, workshops and provide assistance to members.

DOM will provide a productive and user-friendly environment.
The following is an outline of the steps a member must take prior to being eligible to use/rent equipment or DOM facilities:

Complete online membership registration.

Sign DOM's user-agreement form.
- Sign up for and take all required certification classes offered by DOM to gain usage rights to the equipment and facilities.
All equipment and studio time must be reserved in advance via the website. DOM will provide computer and Internet access for members needing to make online reservations. Drop-ins are allowed, but the same fees apply.

All members must pay in advance.

All facilities and equipment will be rented by the hour (unless otherwise specified); usage will not be prorated.

Equipment rental and edit room cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance or the member will be charged full usage fee. Studio rental cancellations must be made seven (7) days in advance, or the member will be charged full usage fee.

Receipts will be issued by staff for all cash and check payments.

If members use less time than signed up for when renting equipment or facilities, they will still be obligated to pay for the entire rental time period.
